With the Floral Wave release in April, we are introducing a range of functions that will make your work on stiftungschweiz.ch even more efficient, structured and individual. The focus is on improvements to the list function, new options in application management and the further development of the statistics panel.
List update
Whether you are a funding foundation looking for suitable project partners or a non-profit organization wanting to keep an eye on potential funding institutions – the new list update will not only make your research more structured, but also much easier. From Pro level onwards, you will benefit from these new list features:
Table view
The new table view brings clarity to your search: you see all entries in a clear table format, can show or hide columns as required and sort your list according to several criteria at the same time. Filters by text, rating or date help you to identify exactly the organizations or projects that match your objectives.
Custom fields
Your evaluation criteria are individual – and you can now create your own fields for precisely this purpose. Whether it’s an assessment of the fit in terms of content, potential for collaboration or specific internal key figures: With free text, a star scale, selection fields or checkboxes, you can turn the list into your personal scouting or fundraising tool.
Detailed view
Click on a list entry to open the new detailed view. Here you have more space to edit content, add notes, leave comments or define responsibilities in the team. Upvotes and downvotes are also possible – ideal for preparing decisions or discussing them within the team.
Create lists from saved searches
You can now create a list directly from a saved search subscription – ideal for further processing exciting hits from the automated search. One click in the search subscription menu is all it takes.

Individual benchmarking in the statistics panel
In the new statistics panel – the further development of the Swiss Foundation Barometer – charitable organizations and grant-making foundations can confidentially record seven key figures on personnel, assets, expenditure or funding volume. The data is incorporated into a scientifically supported sector analysis and enables individual benchmarking once the participation threshold of 300 organizations has been reached. This makes it possible, for example, to identify funding gaps or thematic trends – and to better assess one’s own position in comparison to the sector. The survey only takes around ten minutes and increases the transparency and visibility of the non-profit sector with each participation.
This is how the input works:
- On stiftungschweiz.ch and select “Organization” from the menu.
- Open the “Statistics section / Foundation barometer” tile.
- Enter the seven key figures for the first year (e.g. 2023).
- Scroll up, select the next year (e.g. 2022) and add the values.
- Repeat this step for every three years.
- Finally, click on “Update organization”.
As soon as enough organizations have participated, a comparison value is displayed for each key figure – your individual benchmarking.
New status options for projects
Five revised status options are now available so that you can present your projects even more precisely. This allows you to see where your project stands at a glance:
- Design: Your project is in progress and not yet visible.
- Private: Your project is ready for presentation, but can only be viewed by your funding partners
- Ongoing (NEW – replaces “Public”): Your project is visible to everyone, can be found via search and is displayed prominently on your profile.
- Completed (NEW): Show the success of your completed project: it remains visible, but is no longer listed under “Private” or “Ongoing”.
- Archived (NEW): Your project is no longer publicly visible – but still available internally for you and your funding history (application management).
With these new status options, you can communicate project progress precisely – and provide orientation for sponsors and interested parties.
Improvements to the application form
For application management, we focused primarily on the application form for the Floral Wave release and launched three improvements:
1 As a funding organization, you can now limit the number of characters in the text fields of the application form. Both a minimum and a maximum number of characters can be set for text fields. This allows you to easily control the length of the application.
2. you can also enter additional information or instructions for each question, which are displayed to the applicant as a tooltip for the question. This allows you to support and guide applicants in answering the questions in a targeted manner.
3. in the forms for individuals, the contact details (first and last name, address, telephone number, email address and role) are now requested by default and automatically inserted if applicants have already filled in this information in their profile. Funding organizations no longer have to request this data themselves, but can focus on the specific questions of the funding organization in the form questions – as with the form for organizations. Applicants only have to fill in the information in their profile once and can then use it for every application.
More users in Free level
And last but not least: users at the Free level can now add up to 3 users to their account. Invite your team members to join you on stiftungschweiz.ch!
